ALL ABOUT SEUMAS
Akki ! x
Akki ! x (pronounced AKEE PLING EKS)
Akki was a genetically-altered intelligent cyborg-dolphin, who was sadly eaten by a different genetically-altered intelligent cyborg-dolphin with too many Orca genes for everyone's good on a planet near a backwater globular cluster somewhere far off in the galaxy...
Akki ! x is a 31 year old radical liberal agnostic humanist lacto-vegetarian militant cyclist butch biker bear who can occasionally be spotted strutting around Edinburgh dressed like an extra from a CMTV video. He is also as bent as hell.
He has a passion for:-
John & Simon & Martyn & Gareth, European Beer (esp. Belgian), aggressive militant cycling, wierdness, Lentils, DC6525s, Tori Amos (not to be confused with the aforementioned bentness), Mike Oldfield (ditto, definitely ditto), Philip Glass (even more dittos here), SF (call it Sci-Fi and I'll eat your vocal chords), beards & bears & hairy chests & hairy arms & hairy... (oooooooooooo), CD-ROMs, PapaBearSkin and UncleRob, Indian food, 3Dfx Voodoo, Diva, PCMCIA devices, Oddbins, pussies, pipes & pipemen, obsolete micros, Baileys, Internet Relay Chat, minimalist music, DOOM, Science, Triumph Thunderbird (I wish - the Suzuki GS125E will do for now), imagination, esoterica, Akhnaten (the opera, dear, not the Pharaoh), Danske Club Black Luxury, Garamond, board games, home-made Galaxy Truffles, Cuesta Rey Maduro Robustos, DAT, malt whisky, C&W line dancin', micro-emacs, Lego Technic, scanners, BDSM & Leather, historic mysteries, Scots Federalism, Dragonhead Oatmeal Stout, 'Z80' ZX Spectrum Emulator for the PC, San Francisco (sigh) and his Queen-sized pine bed with eyehooks and dogchains (which is currently broken due to a lively episode with two 18st/250lbs/115kg bears [you know who you are...]).
He utterly detests:-
Narrow-mindedness, courgettes, ordinariness, the Batman films, spinach (most of the time), little boys of all ages, cars, buses, lorries, trucks, vans, taxis, green, the vain South-East Englishers who just don't understand the Scots, football, TMNT, 'respectability', the distance to San Francisco, CD prices, John's mushrooms, PageMaker, floppy disks, Dixons, arrogance, DOS, British lager (aka Pseudo-Bavarian Poof Juice), British Nationalism, British Rail (who they?), British Telecom, rap, mocha, censorship, quiche, religion, meat, BBC Micros, men in suits, aubergines, Times Roman, dogs, PC architecture, PC-ness, PCs, mundanes, cigarettes, illiterate Bible-thumpers (ie. all of them) and crawling around in very small spaces laying Ethernet cable.
He lives with:-
John, 4 pussies (Bad [Hermes], The Pest [Morag], Meep [Alice] and Pig [Katie]), umpteen synths, a groovy AMD K6/233 based PC, a 486 PC, an Amstrad PC, an Atari ST, too many BBC Micros, two and a half QLs, at least four original rubbery Spectrums, two ZX81s (one of which is encased entirely in Lego (tm)), a TRS-80 color, an MTX 512, a Z88, a Yamaha MSX with music keyboard, a BT Tonto, two Acorn Atoms and an as yet unidentified Sharp.
He also composes music (Philip Glass/Tangerine Dream/Mike Oldfield someone said), forms Limited Companies, 'designs' ScotsGay magazine, is System Administrator and Trainer in Cyberia Edinburgh Internet Cafe, cooks fabulous Indian and Italian and has been known to make a mean Lentil Broth with which you could build Nuclear Power Station Containment Vessels.
CDs in my "current playlist" include: Angelo Badalamenti, Kate Bush, Beatles, Duran Duran, Adam & The Ants, Vangelis, Tori Amos, The Art Of Noise, Pet Shop Boys, U2, R.E.M., Blur, Primal Scream, Kraftwerk, Sally Oldfield, Heaven 17, Cranberries, Enigma, Mike Oldfield, Wolfstone, Barrington Pheloung, Philip Glass, Enya, Fluke, Malcolm McLaren, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Propaganda, Jean Michel Jarre, Yello, Pink Floyd, Steve Reich, New Order and Depeche Mode...
